  • How does studio yoga compare to 24h fitness yoga?

    Hi!

I've been doing yoga for awhile now, but only at home and at my gym. How does studio yoga different from gym yoga? It's a lot more expensive than a gym membership so I've been hesitant to sign up, even though I love yoga. I feel like the instructor at my gym has a lot of good yoga poses too. Is studio yoga way better? I'm not that flexible either so I don't want to hop into a studio and feel out of place.

Well, the overall environment is different. You're not just going to get a workout, but to feel more calm. Usually, students at studios have more "yoga etiquette" than gyms because everyone is there to do yoga. In terms of the sequence, I think that comes down to the instructor teaching the class. But keep in mind that studios generally hire more experienced instructors.

Not to mention also the spirituality and philosophy of yoga! I've never done gym yoga, but I hear they only focus on the poses and not the true essence of yoga. I don't want to say gym yoga is bad or anything and I'm happy to see that it's bringing more people to yoga. But I feel like everyone should explore more of what yoga has to offer! I'm sure you would be more than welcome at any studio.

I think it just depends on the instructor. Sure the environment may be different, but the instructor can make all the difference in the world. If you're lucky, then you've got an awesome instructor at a gym. Like you said, you're more likely to have a qualified instructor at a yoga studio than at a fitness gym.

There's pretty much intro trials at every studio so don't be afraid to try them out and see how you feel! Let us know if you decide to visit a studio

Today I'm visiting gym which is work 24 hours per day, and I wanted to say, that is really convenient. I can train any time, when ever I want, don't paying attention at what time o'clock is now.
